In Part 1 of this series we covered specific steps to take before your RV sales event. In this part we are going to discuss the things to do during the sales event that will help to make it a successful one and create excitement.

During the Event:

DJ Announcements – Remember that radio station/DJ we spoke of lining up for your big event in the last article? Well, this is where he/she helps to create an air of excitement. The DJ should not only make sure there is a lot of great music but should also be announcing on air all of the events currently going on as well as all the great stuff yet to come. This will bring more awareness of your event and get more listeners coming down to see what all the noise is about.

Post Videos And Pictures – Throughout your sales event you should have at minimum one person, and ideally several people, taking pictures and video of all the fun that is happening. These pictures and video should be posted regularly during the event on all social media to create buzz. Make sure you also let followers know how long the event is going on and where you are located so they have the opportunity to join in the fun.

This is also a great place to announce the contests going on and how they can enter and win as well as announce the winners of those contests. Make sure you take pictures of the winners as well as pictures of those who purchased units at the event next to their purchase and always make sure you ask them to like your dealership’s Facebook page so you can tag them in the picture post for all their friends and family to see.

Run Specials – This is a great way to get people down to the dealership to look at the units and participate in the fun. Car dealerships do this all the time by offering silver dollar coins, raffle entries, and more just for coming in and test driving a car.

The same holds true for your dealership. Set up specials, raffles, discounts, and rewards for those that come to the event and test drive or take a tour of your units. Then make sure that these specials are announced by the DJ as well as on all social media platforms and be sure to state that they are only available for a limited time during the event.

Testimonials – There is no better time to get testimonials from your customers then when they are ecstatic about buying a new RV from you. Make sure that you ask them if they could take a minute to write a few sentences about their experience of buying from your dealership. Of course, common sense would dictate that you must make sure you provide excellent customer service. That’s a given regardless of whether you ask for testimonials or not.

Once you’ve collected their testimonials make sure you use them on your website as well as on all your social media. These testimonials are not just for the event either. You can recycle them for promotional materials too and if you can get video of the customer saying great things about your dealership and its employees that’s fantastic too.

Posters – Now obviously, this is something you need to have made up before the big day but make sure you display posters around your dealership that demonstrates how to check into the big RV dealership event on Facebook for a chance to win a prize. Then announce the winners on Facebook every hour or so depending on how many prizes you have to give out.

When people check in to your dealership on Facebook it is instant advertising for your business. Not only does it show up on the dealership’s Facebook page but also on that customer’s page and their friends and family’s as well. It’s a great way to spread the news, your brand, and get new followers.

Ask For Love –  There’s no shame in asking for some love by asking everyone to like your Facebook page while they are at the event. Most people these days have the Facebook app on their phones and can like your dealership’s page within a few seconds. This is a great way to build your followers, get more exposure, and spread your brand.

Remember, also that an event like this is meant to be fun and create excitement for your dealership and its products and services. The more events like this your dealership has throughout the year the more your brand will spread and people will come to see what all the hub bub is about.

In part three of our three part series, we will discuss what you should do after your big event to keep the excitement going.
